AI in supply chain management !

The application of AI in supply chain related-tasks holds high potential for boosting top-line and bottom-line value.

Operational procurement - To streamline procurement and related tasks through automation and augmentation with the help of chatbots, there is a need for robust and intelligent data sets which the procurement bot would be able to access as a reference. Chatbots are a form of artificial intelligence that can be used for functions like speaking to suppliers, place purchasing requests, and also to set and send actions to suppliers regarding governance and compliance materials. With the help of these automated functions in the supply chain, a company can increase their focus on other vital areas.

Supply chain planning - For any business, supply chain planning is a crucial aspect of the supply chain strategy. Machine learning coupled with supply chain planning could help companies in forecasting within inventory, demand, and supply. Machine learning also has the ability to revolutionize the agility and optimize supply chain decision-making. With the help of machine learning, supply chain managers can deliver the best possible outcomes based on intelligent algorithms and machine-to-machine analysis of big data sets.

Warehouse management - Supply chain planning is heavily reliant on proper warehouse and inventory-based management. One of the main problems most businesses face regarding warehousing is under-stocking or overstocking. Machine learning algorithms and data streams have precise predictive power to forecast the supply and demand. With this mechanism, issues pertaining to the shortage or excess stock can be avoided.

Logistics and shipping - The rising demand for on-time delivery is putting pressure on companies to improve the efficiency of their shipping and logistics facilities. Efficiency in shipping and logistics is a win-win situation for both the company and its customers. Faster and more accurate shipping reduces lead times and transportation expenses, adds elements of environmental friendly operations, and reduces labor costs.

Supplier selection - Choosing the right supplier and maintaining a good professional relationship with them is a crucial task for businesses. Also, sourcing from the right suppliers is an increasing concern for enhancing supply chain sustainability, CSR, and supply chain ethics. A single slip-up in this operation could lead to bad PR and negative publicity for a company. With the help of machine learning and intelligent algorithms, firms can get active real-time data about their suppliers. This will help them in better choosing the best supplier from the lot with minimum errors of judgment.

Involvement of technology in the HR industry has improved the traditional ways of hiring candidates. Nowadays, video resumes gives employers a quick idea about the job-seeker and lets them know the person before a face to face interview. Job seekers can make an unforgettable impression using video resumes that cannot be achieved with a text resume alone.

Well-drafted text resume is indeed impressive; however it can only tell an employer about your hard skills. Your soft skills, such as your commitment, communication, confidence, competence and others remain unknown to the employer upon viewing your text resume. By blending the text resume with the video resume, job seekers can create a powerful profile that permits the employers to gauge their hard and soft skills; thereby creating a much more undeniable, authentic and an impressionable profile.

There are many resume creating tools available online for free. I foresee many such tools in the market very soon as every aspirant wants to stand out from the rest of the crowd in a tough economy. To make it possible, one needs to have something unusual to get attention of hiring managers. Now is the time to update your online portfolio with Video resume and introduce yourself uniquely to the hiring authority.

Have you ever wondered that where did the phone that you use in your day-to-day life come from? Or the clothes that you buy or the food that you eat? Besides the shops that you go to, there’s a whole other chain of different interlinked elements that work on delivering these products to you. This connected chain is called as Supply Chain.

Consider a clothing supply chain for instance. The clothing, textiles, and apparel manufacturing industries involve a lot of labors in them as the demand for work is never-ending. The estimated employ count in the industry is of than 60 million people globally. The term supply chain in the clothing sector refers to the back end of the industry. The supply chain in the clothing industry is made by connecting:

  • Raw material sources
  • Factories that use these raw materials and create final products
  • Distribution network that delivers these clothes to consumers

On a global scale, the clothing supply chain consists of millions of people along with tonnes of water, crops, chemicals, and oil. This makes it difficult for manufacturers to find where the different parts of their products come from. The demand for increased speed, high volume, and cheaper consumption is increasing with each passing day. Due to this, when blind consumerism has valued the transparency of an ethical supply chain is compromised.

Blockchain can be applied to many challenges of the Supply Chain industry such as complicated recordkeeping and tracking of products. As a less corruptible and better-automated alternative to centralized databases. Following are the ways in which blockchain can be useful in the supply chain industry.

Provenance Tracking

In a blockchain-based supply chain management, record keeping and provenance tracking become easy as the product information can be accessed through the help of embedded sensors and RFID tags. The history of a product right from its origination to where it is in the present time can be traced through blockchain. Moreover, this type of accurate provenance tracking can be used to detect frauds in any part of the supply chain.

Cost Reduction

When blockchain is applied to speed up administrative processes in supply chains, the extra costs occurring in the system are automatically reduced while still guaranteeing the security of transactions. The elimination of the middlemen and intermediaries in the supply chain saves the risks of frauds, product duplicacy and saves money too. Payments can be processed by customers and suppliers within the supply chain by using cryptocurrencies rather than customers and suppliers rather than relying on EDI. Moreover, efficiency will be improved and the risk of losing products will be reduced with accurate record-keeping.

Establishing Trust

Having trust in complex supply chains with many participants is necessary for smooth operations. For example, when a manufacturer shares his products with suppliers, he/she should be able to depend on them for following factory safety standards. Also, when it comes to regulatory compliances such as custom enforcers, trust plays a vital role. The immutable nature of blockchain in the supply chain is well-designed to prevent tampering and establishing trust.

Conclusion:

Blockchain has introduced its potential to bring out positive changes in many industries and businesses till date including the supply chain industry. In fact, the supply chain management is one of the most obvious and useful applications of Blockchain technology, therefore, we can expect it to grow at a very fast pace in the near future. The source of successful operation of a supply chain management system is to keep a robust, transparent and end-to-end communication.

Setting SMART Goals !

Smart goals for Success

Pic credit: Google

Setting goals will give you a sense of purpose, focus your limited time and energy on what is really important, and motivate you to achieve something that is meaningful to you.

Ultimately, setting goals is about intentionally creating the life that you want, one step at a time.

Before moving on the SMART goals, Let us start with the 'wrong' goals.

A wrong goal is often imposed by others, whether explicitly or implicitly. It’s something we feel we should do based on our parents’ expectations, what our friends and colleagues are doing, the societal norms that exist around us.

A wrong goal is not aligned with our personal values, it’s inconsistent with your underlying beliefs, and it’s not something you fundamentally and genuinely care about.

When we choose the 'wrong' goal we are inevitably going to be half hearted in our attempts at achieving them, which means we are likely to fail.

One of my favourite quotes is this:

“It doesn’t really matter how fast you’re going if you’re heading in the wrong direction.”

- Stephen Covey, author of the classic, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

Having the right goals in place is fundamental to successfully achieving them, and for that achievement to really contribute to your happiness and life satisfaction.

So what are the 'right' goals?

A meaningful goal is one that you have been thinking about for months or even years. This shows commitment, which will be important in getting you over that finishing line. A meaningful goal is one for which you are naturally motivated, versus someone else telling you that you should do it. Again, this will make sure that you’re committed to working hard in order to achieve it. A meaningful goal is one that is consistent with your personal values.

A meaningful goal is one that you’re willing to work hard for.

And a meaningful goal is one that will truly have an impact on your life, in terms of your happiness, general life satisfaction, or any other aspect of your life that is important to you.

Finally, we come to the SMART part!

S – Specific: Getting specific on the goals that you want to achieve will give you more clarity on what success looks like, and help you to identify the concrete steps that will get you there.

M – Measurable: If you can’t measure your goal, then how will you know if you have achieved it? How will you track your progress?

A – Achievable: Goals that may seem completely out of your reach can become achievable if you break them down into smaller steps and give yourself a reasonable time frame in which to achieve them.

R – Relevant: A relevant goal is a goal that is meaningful to you, as well as being relevant to the wider context, to what’s going on in the world around you, personally and professionally.

T – Time-bound: Finally, setting a deadline will help you to focus and will also give you a sense of urgency, which can motivate you to act now rather than putting it off until later.

Finally, I would conclude with this quote !

How to start a blog ?

Heard about blogging ? Do you want to start your own blog but don't know how to do it?
Welcome guys, in this article I will tell you how to start a blog.
I will tell you how to start a blog for free from scratch along with giving you some tips to grow fast on blogger. So let us begin !!

There are 5 steps to start a blog!

Choosing a platform

Before you start with a blog, you have to choose a platform. There are two famous platforms, One is blogger and the other is wordpress. Many of the beginners start with blogger because it is a product of Google. In addition to this, you will get a free subdomain and the fastest hosting for free. Beware, if you create any kind of illegal blogs like movies' downloading website, your blog will be deleted by Google.

Niche

Niche is basically a particular topic on which you are starting your blog. It can be travelling blog, health blog, tech blog etc. Choose best niche for blog is a truly difficult thing. If you have any profession, then it will be easy to choose. To find best niche ideas for your blog, try to do some research on google.

Domain And Hosting:

If you are just starting your journey, start with blogger. Many of the highest paid bloggers started here on blogger. You will get a free subdomain, 'blogspot.com' and a super-fast hosting. If you are going with wordpress, you will have to buy a domain and a fast hosting. There are many videos on YouTube that give insight on how to buy free domain and hosting. They will show you .tk .ml and other domains like this, but you will be facing problems while getting approval for these on Adsense and a fast hosting will be expensive. Either pick a paid domain and fast hosting or start with the blogger.

Customizations:

The next step is customizing your blog. How to do that ? Click on the layout option on left sidebar on the blogger. Delete the widgets that you don't want on your blog. Your blog should be simple, neat and clean. You can also add a subscription widget on your blog.

Post Articles:

After doing customization of your blog, start posting the articles. Post regularly minimum one article per day. You can decide the length of the article on your own. The positive point of a long article is when you will activate ads between the articles you will get more ads. But the key here is, you have to write your own articles. Never indulge in plagiarism or else your blog will not be shown by Google. Before writing an article, try to do some research on the keywords so that the SEO shows up your blog when certain keywords are typed.

And there, you are ready to create your first blog ! Happy blogging !

Video on Promotion of Lucknowi Chikankari

The second phase of the Swadeshi Mandi competition was to promote the product we chose !!

Lucknow Chikankari is the unique technique of making intricate designer patterns on a fabric, all by hand. They find their origin in the city of Nawabs, Lucknow, and the word ‘chikan’, literally translates to embroidery.
